Hello Paris Live Club Members!
The temperature is getting hot outside as Paris springs to the beat of summer. The James Taylor Quartet are joining the 'Afternoon Overdrive' team and will be dropping into the Paris Live studios today. Then Paris Live is proudly sponsoring the Red Hot Chilli Peppers fans at a pre and post show party at the Hideout Bar before the boys open up live at Parc des Princes on Tuesday night. Check out all the details at http://www.redhotchilipeppers.com/news/, including the possibility to win pit passes to see the band up close! Then on Thursday weve got Gordon Sanchez, a young French group taking France by storm dropping by the studios, again for 'Afternoon Overdrive'. Check out the band at http://www.gordonsanchez.free.fr.
DAB Radio starts 16 June 2004
Paris Live begins broadcasting on DAB digital radio in the Paris Region on 16 June - allowing people to listen to Paris Live Radio in their cars for the first time. I can also report that Paris Live will apply for a temporary FM licence for Paris with the Conseil Suprieur de lAudiovisuel in the near future. More details soon.
Paris Lives First Month on the Air
Its not surprising that the first month has gone so fast. We cant believe its already over, and its all gone so well. The shows are great and getting better and better. From Paul and Angela, on The Breakfast Show, to Robbie and Natasha, on Afternoon Overdrive, the hosts have been getting me out of bed, and cracking me up. Then being wound down by 'Downtime' when I get home, it has been a great month.
News Coverage
Its not just me whos excited the papers just cant get enough of us! The BBC, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Singapore Strait Times, Malaysian Sunday Times, the Independent on Sunday, the Washington Post, and Agence France Press - they all have been very supportive of the idea of a English radio station in Paris and given Paris Live superb coverage from one end of the planet to the other.
Competitions
But more importantly the first month has been about our listeners - especially you members of the Paris Live Club. So weve decided to do you a favour, because were nice like that, and enter you into the Paris Live Competition - yes, you have the chance to win 500 of tickets to concerts of your choice! Thats not our only competition, check out 'Afternoon Overdrive' for a chance to win one of 8 return tickets to Glasgow from Paris with our new partner, Ryanair.
Thats it from me, stay tuned, because if you thought May was good, I promise June will be even better.
Also thanks to all our sponsors and partners whom continue to grow in numbers.
Enjoy the Fete de la Music on the summer soltice (June 21), Frances noisiest holiday where everyone is allowed and encouraged to play as much music as load as they can for the entire 24 hours. It really is one of Paris great days of the year and Paris Live will be joining in the fun with special programming all day.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH DOWNTIME?
PLR: So you guys are splitting up? Why? You were great together...
Laura: Yeah, Ive had enough of Myles so Im off to have my own show Myles: Dont worry theres been no arguments its just that we realized that we were too talented to fit into one show. Laura: So now l'll be presenting the "LAURA G SHOW" between 8 and 10PM daily featuring all the alternative pop, rock and hiphop you could possibly handle.
PLR: And what are you doing Myles?
Myles: I'll stay in Downtime keeping the electro feel, staying in the later slot at 10PM because clubs warm up later on, whereas gigs and concerts start earlier. So all our listeners will be able to tune in - and then go out.
PLR: You were dropping great tunes throughout May, what else did you crazy late night types get up to?
Myles: The Technikart night at the REX had the best of French and Japanese DJs, and rocked. Laura: I went a bit more highbrow than Myles and checked out the Ninja Tunes expo. Saw all the art work from their albums- very cool indeed.
PLR: What was THE tune for last month? Without a doubt - Mo' Horizons "Drum n Boogaloo".
PLR: Best tune coming up? Laura: The Soft Boys with Mr Kennedy. Myles: King Kooba with Want your love from that great label, Om Records.
