David Applefield
David Applefield, a Bostonian in Paris since 1983, is the author of two novels ONCE REMOVED (1997) and ON A FLYING FISH (2004) both published by Mosaic Press in Canada. He is the founder and publisher of the popular Paris web site www.paris-anglo.com and he writes the weekly newsletter MY MERCREDI. His guidebooks on Paris include PARIS INSIDE OUT, now in its 6th edition, published by Globe Pequot Press, and THE UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO PARIS, 3rd edition, published by Frommer’s (Wiley).

Applefield coached the kids in the recent making of the MTV Real World Paris program, and had a small role in the Merchant Ivory Production Le Divorce. He also works as a communications specialist for International Herald Tribune and The Financial Times, project managing Country Reports and advertising strategies in West and Central Africa. He lives in Montreuil-sous-Bois on the eastern edge of Paris, which boasts of France’s highest per capita ratio of artists, Malians, and foreign languages spoken in the public schools.

Natasha Black
It's said the phantom found her in a basket floating under the Opera but in truth it's hard to say where the mysterious, most cosmopolitan of ladies first saw the moonlight; and no, she wasn't born with a silver microphone in her dainty hand or madly ringing the bells of Notre Dame or even dubbing the laugh scene in Topkapi ....and as for theatre at eight, she has been known to come late but that's why the lady is, after all, at the very least a ...vamp. Has she asked everyone in Paris one question?

Doubtful but then again if she ever slowed her bike down long enough they might have asked her. Does she hate California? No, but did she turn down a lucrative starting football position for the ladies' team in Rome? ....more likely.

Still she probably told them she was just too busy. "Sorry dearies, I have to be at the movies for a Peter O'Toole retrospective, or al teatro for a Magnani performance or to cook up a midnight spaghetti aglio-olio for a lucky beau.” Paris, cold and damp? Not when this lady's in town.

That's why this lady is ...well, in overdrive.

Angela Carrington
Angela is one of those individuals born of Australia and New Zealand - who has travelled the world and worked in both radio and television across Asia and America. Ending up in France was more a matter of fate than anything else - but 4 years in the heart of Paris has made her a believer and a wonderful person to wake up to in the morning...

LAURA G
Laura G hails all the way from Perth, Western Australia.

Presenting to the Freemantle Coastline on “The Vibe” then moving on to anchoring the Cable Show “Fleet TV” for extreme sports. After playing in Perth-based group “Purrvert” for several years, she made her way to Paris Live Radio to broadcast on “Downtime” with Myles and Esther and a truckload of seriously good music.

Myles Neave
Born in Sydney, Australia, Myles has lived in Paris for seven years. Five years ago he began DJing, after years of experience as a drummer, and has never looked back. His musical influences are wide and varied: from African-Brazilian flavas to American hip-hop and he loves the breakbeat. When playing house, the beat and sound of the percussion comes first (he was a drummer after all). On his show you’ll find vinyl by Compost, Om, Stereo Deluxe and G-Stone.

Robbie Nock
Robbie was a hyperactive child from the Welsh border town of Chepstow in South Wales until he discovered fly fishing and scrumping from the local orchards in the late 70’s. His passion for football saw him sign for the Bristol City FC youth team for 4 years and his passion for nature took him to Montana at the age of 17 where he monitored grizzly bears and bald eagles and learnt the art of travelling.

On his return to the green grass of Wales he decided that itchy feet would most definitely play an important role in his destiny and a year later in 1991 he followed his brother out to the French alps for his first Winter season.

After becoming a dab hand at being a ski-bum following a five season stint, a chance encounter in 94 with the boss of a French radio station saw him become the radio voice of Val D’Isere, for four years he presented a daily hour long show in English for Europe 2 Val D’Isere.

In 1998 he left the mountains in search of the city, stumbling across the Gastronomic capital of France, Lyon where he became hooked on oysters and bubbly. He was given a sports journalist position for the pan European television channel Euronews and five years later and a strong desire to explore the French capital and it’s bohemian backdrop, Robbie is presenting the Afternoon Overdrive for Paris Live Radio every weekday from 5 till 8pm with co-host Natasha Black.

Jon Tolansky
Award winning international broadcaster, writer and former musician Jon Tolansky specializes in profiling the lives and music of the world’s greatest classical performers, many of whom he has worked with closely during his present capacity as host and producer and his former career as a musician. A long time aficionado of the legendary musical life of Paris, he brings to Paris Live Radio his extra special connections with top artists currently and previously appearing in the city and his many years of expertise hosting classical music features, interviews, record programs, live concert and opera relays and news reports for leading world radio organizations.

He can be heard on the BBC (UK and World Service), CBC (Canada), WFMT (USA), WQXR (USA), XM (USA), ABC (Australia), RNZ (New Zealand), RTE (Ireland) - and now PLR.

Paul Vincent
Stand-up comedian, Murdoch news editor, psychogeriatric nurse, university lecturer in China, DJ, poet, Uma Thurman's boyfriend, chat-show host, Paris metro busker; Paul Vincent has been all these things, except one! Now he's hosting Paris Live Radio's Breakfast show with the lovely Angela Carrington from 7-10 every weekday morning. Getting up in the morning just got better!
