Artevent involves 10 countries, is organised by Norexpo and is under the artistic direction of Alin Avila, director of the french contemporary art review arearevue)s(.
Thanks to the active support of some private companies, site-specific installations and artistic creations will also be part of the event. Similarly, a selection of some art-works by prize-winning artists subsidised by grants for individual creation will be displayed thanks to the support of the DRAC (Regional Direction for Art and Culture) Nord-Pas de Calais. On the other hand, Veacesclav Druta's installation of La Balanoire will be exhibited, thanks to the participation of the national contemporary art Fresnoy Studio. Finally, within the framework of the Artevents Charter drawn up by law practice Duel together with the Gagnants Club, some legal and fiscal services will be offered to the signatory businesses, regarding in particular the Aillagon law on tax exemption on acquisition of art-works. Included in the third season of Lille 2004, the European Capital of Culture, Artevent is a euro-regional fair whose dynamism is enhanced by its international input with the 10 participating countries amongst which Belgian and French galleries are at the forefront. New promising perspectives on culture and its markets should emerge from Artevents privileged relationship to primitive art as the vessel for inspiration to modern art practice together with its close relationship to the business world.
